FRESHLY BAKED

NVIDIA JOINS THE FOUR COMMA CLUB

Oracle. Cisco. Nvidia. DJ Khaled.

What do they all have in common?

They’re all old, rich, and no one’s got any idea what they actually do.

We may never know what DJ Khaled does besides yelling his own name, buuut we did get the scoop on Nvidia after it just became the 7th most valuable company in the world.

It hit the $1T (trillion!) market cap mark after beating on earnings this week. Their stock went up 25% after the announcement, and has been up 140% over the last 6 months.

And if you’re like us and had no idea what Nvidia did before reading this, let me give ya the TLDR:

They make chips.

… Yup I see your eyes glazing over so I’ll make this quick.

They were one of the first manufacturers of GPUs, which basically help make graphics intensive programs on computers run faster. Think video editing, streaming, games, etc. It can also be used in contexts like self-driving technology where the car is taking in lots of data about its surroundings.

More recently though, GPUs have been used for complex calculations. And what requires hella calculating?

That’s right, buddy. Everyone’s magic word these days - AI.

So Nvidia is basically supplying the flour to the cookies. They’ve got the key ingredient every AI company needs, and now they’re out there crushing it.

It’s not so surprising that they’re now expecting revenue to be 50% higher this quarter to satisfy the need for AI chips.

And while this is all fine and dandy, the real talk of the town has been their CEO, Jensen Huang.

Guy’s probably one of the world’s richest dudes and no one knows that he’s this leather jacket wearing hardo with a ton of quotable moments, like when he said, “my will to survive exceeds almost everybody else's will to kill me.” LOL.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang

He’s been the silent killer of the last 3 decades, and we definitely aren’t betting against him.

BTW, Acquired did an awesome podcast on him and Nvidia. Long, but worth it.
